This guide will walk you through the information we collect in the DropLoss. You can print this page as a checklist for convenience, or to discuss the required information with your investment advisor to help you track down what you need to use the DropLoss system.
Required Information
The following information is needed to offer an investment on DropLoss. It's important that you get this information right, or the transfer may be deemed invalid and not serve your intended purpose.
Your Name as Owner of the Investment
This information is used to generate the Transfer Documents, listing you as vendor and us purchaser. It is important to make sure that you are the owner of the investment and it isn't held in a nominee account or with a custodian for qualified plan eligibility (ie. RRSP, RESP, TFSA, RRIF, etc.).
Your Email Address
This is how we will send you Transfer Documents and communicate with you to finalize any sale of investments. It's really important to make sure that this is correctly entered, otherwise you may not receive your documents.
Your Contact Information
This information is important for us to generate the Transfer Document Package and also helps us get ahold of you if we need to contact you for follow-up.
Your Province of Residence
This is important for us to ensure that you are (a) resident in Canada, and (b) resident in one of the jurisdictions where we carry on business. Currently, we aren't set up to provide our services in the Province of Quebec, but we hope to explore this soon.
Is the investment a reporting issuer on an exchange?

Although we can still prepare the necessary documents and send them to you, we may not be able to follow up with the issuer or other important stakeholders to try to effect the transaction on all books and records. Speak to your accounting, legal and investment advisor before determining to proceed without this information.
